Buddha Nature
In this episode, I explore the concept of Buddha nature, drawing a parallel to a painted rock in my garden. I explain that Buddha nature refers to the inherent qualities within us that are already pure and awakened, but are often obscured by our conditioning—societal norms, beliefs, and experiences, much like paint on a rock. The key takeaway is that beneath the layers of conditioning, there is a fundamental, unadorned self, similar to the rock itself. This understanding can help us see ourselves and others more clearly, recognizing that our views and opinions are like the paint, not the true essence of who we are, and this perspective can foster greater compassion and reduce aversion in our interactions.
