The Rascal Behind The Curtain
In this episode, I explore the concept of the "rascal behind the curtain," which is essentially the process of introspective awareness and spiritual awakening. I discuss how our natural curiosity, which drives us to investigate external phenomena, can also be turned inward to understand our own motivations, aversions, and desires. A key insight is that we are both the seeker and the hidden, much like a cat and mouse game, and that true relief comes from accepting this inherent duality rather than trying to resolve it. This understanding can lead to a more skillful relationship with ourselves and a greater comfort with the uncertainty of life, similar to the game of Tetris where the stress or fun comes from our perception of what's next, rather than the present moment of play. The practical application is to engage in self-knowledge by questioning why we seek certain things or avoid others, fostering a less attached and more accepting perspective on our ever-changing selves.
